Be honest now, when was the last time you shelled out $15 to watch a porn movie in your hotel room? Two years ago? Five years ago?
Never? Ok, sure. And let me guess, every time you go to Vegas you come out ahead, right?
Let’s face it, as soon as Internet speeds became fast enough to stream video the hotel-room on-demand adult movie business was sure to dry up. And according to some sources, porn rentals were a lucrative business indeed.
Of course, many hotels charge daily rates for Internet access and so have likely been able to defer the hit to their bottom line to a large extent. One of the common benefits of elite membership, however, is the waiving of Internet access charges.
So elites get free porn … as well as other items I understand you can find on the interwebs.
Hilton is apparently threatening to put an end to the elite’s Internet orgy, as it were, by putting a cap on the complimentary download speeds such that streaming video is unwatchable and you could get a box of kleenex delivered from housekeeping in the time it takes one image to load. You want faster Internet, you’ll have to shell out for “Premium” access.
And what about business travelers who actually need higher speed Internet access to get their work done while on the road? Yep, they’re going to have to shell out too.
On the bright side though, when they have finished their work they can kick back and relax with a good, plotless, movie.

Hey! They have a plot! She ordered a pizza and couldn’t pay!
…not that I’ve ever seen, or heard of, porn….
