I Smell a Bestseller: The Norwegian Cruise Line Diet

I enjoy watching “Biggest Loser” – it’s a great motivation to watch it during a workout.

Some number of seasons ago one of the episodes featured the contestants taking a cruise and learning how to eat healthy and workout, even when traveling on a vessel that is designed to promote excessive eating and relaxation. So, when I saw a thread titled My “I lost 10 lbs on this cruise” review of the Getaway 6/7/2014-6/14/2014, I was intrigued.

acruisingpeach23 tells a delightfully suspenseful tale of her pre-cruise and cruise experience – all written immediately post-cruise and post-op.

You read that correctly – post-op – as in post-operation!

Because this trip report is written so suspensefully I want to be careful here not to give anything away. Suffice to say, there was a medical reason for the weight loss, and yet acruisingpeach23 took the cruise anyway.

Obviously, I’m going to make you read the trip report to find out all of the details. But I really do want you to click through, despite my providing limited information, so I’m going to try to entice you with acruisingpeach23’s concluding sentences to her first post on the thread:

I am 28 years old and I travel with my mother, sister (25), and boyfriend (35). My boyfriend and I have been on 4 cruises previously, this being our 5th one, and my mother and sister have been on 3 cruises previously with this being their 4th one. … As a family we have sailed Princess and Carnival. My mother was super excited to try NCL. We booked in February and started planning our cruise. Well the problem with planning is you never know what life has in store for you……

Up next: why I had to beg to go on my cruise 5 days before sailing!!

  1. A very similar thing happened to me two weeks before my cruise. I had an attack and I had to stay in the hospital for a week while they monitored me. I was freaking out since I didn’t want to miss my cruise and was finally given the ok to go, but had to go on a similar diet as she did. Other similarities, we are both about the same age and from NYC.
