Rating nearly anything related to travel is difficult. The recently concluded Freddie Awards is a great example. Most travelers, even very frequent travelers, don’t have experience with the majority of the various airline and hotel programs and so for anyone to say Program A is better than Program B is really tough.
But that doesn’t stop people from trying.
On a couple of different forums, members are debating which cities offer the best public transport.

A quick scan of the responses and poll results shows that these cities are near the top of the pack:
- London
- Tokyo
- Madrid
- New York City
- Paris
But there are some great arguments for others as well. And of course, different people are using different criteria to make their assessments, such as:
- How good/poor is the transportation to/from the airport?
- How are major points of interest serviced?
- What are the hours of operation?
- How busy/crowded is the transport?
All around a very interesting set of discussions. Which cities’ public transportation options have you tried? And which did you find the best?
