Witnessing the Aurora Borealis is often described as a surreal, almost mystical experience. At its most spectacular the charged particle event puts on a light show that shames even the world’s biggest fireworks displays. Or at least that’s what I’ve heard.

Because this trip report is written so suspensefully I want to be careful not to give anything away. Suffice to say, there was a medical reason for the weight loss, and yet acruisingpeach23 took the cruise anyway – and her doctor even gave her permission.

Over on Milepoint, TUMD has uncovered a mystery. Evidently something is going on in St. Louis on October 19th. And it must be something big, because whatever it is, it’s causing all American Airlines award flights to be listed as unavailable that day.
As willing as you are to help your friend and family with travel questions when asked, and as gratifying as it can feel to be able to provide guidance, wouldn’t it be nice if every once in awhile you could take the first step – rather than having to wait to be asked.
Now that most of us, and most hotels, have very nice TVs, and we can watch movies whenever we want on our mobile tablets and phones, a visit to the local movie theater just doesn’t hold the same appeal it once did. But there is still something indefinable about watching a movie on a BIG screen – under the stars.
There are no shortage of threads in various online travel communities in which members recount their onboard and in-airport celebrity sighting experiences. But it is a rare distinction indeed to share the first-class cabin with members of a country’s royal family.
