Travel Bug vs Love Bug

I’m going to go out on a limb here and make a guess that if you are reading this blog post, traveling is something that is important to you. Perhaps you were born with a congenital case of wanderlust, or you want to be able to show your family the world on a domestic budget, or maybe you just want to travel in comfort on your business trips – in any case, travel is important to you.

But is travel relationship-ending important to you? If your significant other didn’t like to travel and resented your desire to see the world what would you do?

If you are Vanessa_Mun_Yee, not to mention several other people posting in this thread on TravBuddy, you would choose travel … and begin the hunt for a new SO.

Needless to say, choosing travel over a relationship probably says a lot more about the quality of the love than it does about a love of travel. At least that’s what I thought, until I read a post by fivepointpalm – a truly heartfelt account of love lost, written almost poetically in somewhat broken english. A sample quote from the post:

11 months out of 12…i spend at home, in my hometown..
so what’s the traveling worth for… if you feel got for 30-40 days in a year…and feel lonesome for the rest of the year… ~fivepointpalm

Do yourself a favor and read the entire post. It’s worth a click and a few minutes of your day.
