Trip Report: Fall Colors in Aspen, Colorado

As a resident of Colorado, I often tell people that skiing isn’t the only, or perhaps even the best, reason to visit the mountain towns. Summers in the mountains are absolutely gorgeous, with plenty of hiking, sight seeing and activities to keep you entertained.

And the autumn might be even better, as the leaves are changing, the summer crowds are gone, and skiers are yet to arrive.

It’s one thing to say it though, and another to show it. And showing how beautiful one Colorado mountain town – Aspen – is in the fall is exactly what SFO777 does magnificently well in this ‘Weekend in Aspen‘ trip report.

We have had a pretty good fall as far as the colors go – though not the best I have seen – and SFO777 captures the scenery with a fine eye and a well-focused lens.

Warning: reading this thread will make you want to book a fall trip to Colorado in 2015.

  1. I don’t ski but have long wanted to see the ski towns minus the snow and just did so 2 weeks ago. Visited Aspen/Snowmass, Vail, Keystone, and Steamboat Springs, and the colors were fantastic- Reds were already present! I must say too that the town of Frisco is spectacularly beautiful!
